Olympiadane Molecule

Olympiadane molecule synthesized and named by Fraser Stoddart and coworkers in 1994 resembles the Olympic rings. It is a linear pentacatenane or a [5]catenane where catenanes are molecular entities having two or more mechanically-interlocked macrocycles. It is required to break some covalent bonds to separate otherwise-inseparable interlocked rings of a catenane.
