Past and Present Periodic Tables

The comparison between the periodic table of Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev published in 1871 and the present periodic table (IUPAC periodic table of the elements dated 28 Nov 2016) shows us how our knowledge about elements has increased considerably in recent 150 years. Furthermore, this comparison can provide us with an idea of what aspects of our modern periodic table were also present in Mendeleev’s periodic table and how novel his periodic table was for its time.
