Accelerating Increase of Atmospheric CO2 Concentration

The mean atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration has increased by 8.77 ppm from 1960 to 1970, by 13 ppm from 1970 to 1980, by 15.67 ppm from 1980 to 1990, by 15.17 ppm from 1990 to 2000 and by 20.33 ppm from 2000 to 2010. This shows that not only atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration has increased year by year, but also its increase has had an accelerating trend. This accelerating increase has caused serious concerns since increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration has contributed to global warming and ocean acidification which are among threats to life on Earth.
